♦ What is the LGRC?

The LGRC is a program that promotes a culture of learning through knowledge sharing and application of exemplary practices. It is a virtual, dynamic and interactive resource center that will contribute to the strengthening of local governance enabling environment.

♦ Why Establish an LGRC?

ÆAn LGRC is established to:
 
- Promote a culture of learning and knowledge sharing
- Consolidate the wealth of information on good local governance
- Improve access to these knowledge and information
- Promote awareness and replication of exemplary practices in local   governance

♦ Where are the LGRCs Located?

ÆThe LGRCs were piloted in seven (7) regions in the country. They are called the Regional Local Governance Resource Centers (RLGRCs). They were established in Regions 1,2,3,5,6,7 and 10.  Just last year (2007), an LGRC was established in Region 13.
 
The main hub of the LGRC is located at the Local Government Academy (LGA), called the National Local Governance Resource Center (NLGRC).

♦ What are the Key Principles and Strategies Presently Used in the LGRC?

The LGRC uses Knowledge Management as overarching principle in its operations. It also uses multi-stakeholdership and network building, linkage and network building, linkage and convergence of local governance initiatives, learning by doing, and onsite coaching.
